Catch the brilliant Phoebe Waller-Bridge in all her Fleabag glory live (kinda).

PWB 4EVA: It’s a not-so-secret fact that I love me some Phoebe Waller-Bridge. My creative girl crush started in a big way back in 2016, when the first season of Fleabag hit the U.S. and I full-on geeked out over this sharp, bold, original new voice that had made its way—albeit with surprisingly low-key audience and awards response—from across the Pond. Then Phoebe then went on to up the ante with the debut of her different yet equally uniquely fabulous creation, Killing Eve, two years later. Obsession officially confirmed.
But when the second season of Fleabag debuted this past spring, I lost my sh*t. If I had been suspected of some crime-doing on May 17th, Phoebe would have been my alibi: It was the day all six episodes dropped on Amazon, and I spent the entire afternoon devouring every deliciously madcap, deeply felt, sharply observed and hi-larious minute of my favorite Brit and her crazy crew’s latest misadventures—this time, complete with a hot priest—in that rare kind of ‘GTFO it’s so good’ entertainment blessing. Let us pray.
SCRIBE-TO-SCRIBE STYLE INSPIRATION: In fact, I was so blown away by the new batch of episodes that I needed to spread the word as far and wide as I could… or at least among you loyal lot of readers (thanks, kids!). So, after a self-imposed two-month break, I was inspired post-binge to sit down and write a post on ye ol’ blog spot that put the show in the center spotlight on my spring must-watch list. Though four other series were also included in the same line-up, I’ve never gotten such a strong response from a post as I did about that one, with so many of you throwing down your mutual undying love for Fleabag. And to see the same feeling extended at the Emmys last Sunday night, where our favorite show was on the receiving end of a proper golden shower, was a total thrill. (Did you really think you’d get out of a post about Fleabag without a dirty double entendre? Come now.)
But with no season three to look forward to, all I could think was: If only there was a way to get more Fleabag in our lives…
…AND THERE IS– LIVE! (SORTA): As you might know, the Fleabag series was based on Phoebe’s one-woman show of the same title, which she originally debuted at Scotland’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013. On the other side of the breakout success of its small screen incarnation, Phoebe remounted the show Off-Broadway in NYC earlier this year, followed by a sold out run in London. Sounds super cool if you were able to make it to either one, right?
Well, now you can find out for yourself: Thanks to the ever-amazing National Theatre Live, the play’s West End run—filmed live a few weeks ago—is coming to the big screen! And with encores playing in movie theaters across the country this fall (see below for dates in a few major cities), you can get your Fleabag fix with a trip to your local movie theater.
So, whether your closest city is on the list above and you need to book tickets, or if you still have to suss out where it’s showing near you, hit the link below to snag a seat for a filthy-fabulous-moving evening with Phoebe. To quote the uber-creator herself, Fleabag says ‘thanks’—and so do we.
